Quick Update
News from Big Sandy arrived today in three amazing letters! =) I wanted to take the time to update you all on prayer requests, their address, and other grand information that you all might like to here! For those that desire the address and how to reach the guys down in Big Sandy, here is the snail mail address:
International ALERT Academy
Recruit (Nate, Josh, or Andrew Tijerina...you fill in the blank), Unit 39
One Academy Blvd.
Big Sandy, TX 75755
Here is the email address for those that would like to email:
alertmen@alertacademy.com
In the subject line, please type: Recruit (Nate, Josh, or Andrew Tijerina...again, you fill in the blank :) )
Whether snail mail or email, I know that the guys would really enjoy hearing from those that have a moment to write :) Just to pass the word along...though I am sure that this is not an issue...letters from girls outside the family are forbidden. :) They will get sent back :) :):)
I also wanted to say that we received letters from the guys today full of prayer requests :) I wanted to post them for you all to have more of an idea of what to be praying for :)
1. Homesickness is something that is beginning to set in, so please pray against it and that the Lord would overly and abundantly fill the need individually!
2. That the Lord would fill the guys, as well as all the young men there, with His strength and endurance and that He would remind them that their help comes from the Lord.
3. Please keep praying for the wisdom of the Leadership
4. Pray for clarity of mind because the guys have a ton to remember as well as grace for memorization! :)
5. Please also keep praying for overall safety!
6. Please pray for grace in the Saturday Inspections and that the guys can work hard on their uniforms, rooms, and jurisdictions (hallway, study, etc.)
7. In addition, please pray for diligence, thoroughness and patience.
8. Please pray that the Lord will give the guys stamina as they see each other and are still in "voice lock-down." Also that they will be able to see each other more.
9.Another thing, please pray that the Lord will encourage the guys to not quit but keep pressing on!
As their sister, I so appreciate you all and your families praying for them! I know that I could speak on behalf of my parent's gratitude as well! :)
Just to update you all on how they are doing:
Nate is on the Delta Squad in the 2nd Platoon
Josh is on the Alpha Squad in the 1st Platoon
Andrew is on the Echo Squad also in the 2nd Platoon
From what I understand, there are about 32 guys in this Unit and 5 squads.
It's been raining on and off for awhile now and doing push-ups in a puddle makes for a pretty interesting experience from what Andrew says. =)
A few praises are that they have been able to say verses thus far! :) Also, from what I understand, the Lord is keeping them healthy! :) (eventhough they are tired and sore)
The other really neat thing is that Nate, Josh, and Andrew have made ALERT history as the only 3 brothers ever to have gone through ALERT together! =)
It sounds as though the chaplain, Chaplain Birch, is a huge blessing already to the guys as well as Captain Pendergast and Corporal Johnson.
That pretty much covers all that we have heard. :) I will post more (if not here then I will let you know where) later with more updates! :)
Again, thank you all so much for your prayers and long distance support to the guys! Words aren't fully able to express my gratitude! =)
Please feel free to call our family if you have any questions!
